Dear Families,

Following the announcement from the Welsh Government on Wednesday, schools received a letter from the Director of Education yesterday which included the following paragraph:

“Face coverings are strongly recommended to be worn by secondary mainstream pupils when moving around common areas of school buildings including corridors, lifts, stairwells, toilets, canteen areas where physical distancing is unlikely to be maintained. Face coverings can be removed when seated in the classroom, participating in lessons and when outside of the school building.”

With this in mind, we have decided that pupils will need to wear face coverings when:

  1. Walking in the corridors
  2. Queuing for food in the canteen.

The Local Authority has informed us that it will be providing two washable face coverings per pupil, one to be worn whilst the other is being washed, and we aim to deliver these to pupils when they return to school.

If you have any questions relating to this, please do not hesitate to contact us using:

Kind regards,
